Loachapoka man arrested related to robbery on Wire Road

The Auburn Police Division arrested a 23-year-old on Friday on charges related to a robbery at a business on Wire Road.

Police arrested Johnny Jackson Jr., from Loachapoka, on Feb. 10, on a felony warrant charging him with 1st-degree robbery.

According to police, Jackson is suspected of robbing a business in the 1900 block of Wire Road on Feb. 7. The arrest was the result of a report that a man entered the business near closing time with a gun and ordered an employee to give him money from the register.

The cashier resisted and the suspect left on foot without taking any money, police said.

Jackson was developed as a suspect from video surveillance footage obtained from the scene, which captured the incident. He was taken into custody at his Loachapoka home.

He is being held at the Lee County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
