Itty Bitty Scavenger Hunt to begin Aug. 1

Beginning Aug. 1 the Parks and Recreation Department will be distributing worksheets for the Itty Bitty Scavenger Hunt that will allow residents to hunt for 25 locations around Auburn. These locations will be spread around downtown for participants to find.

There will be prizes designated through drawings after the contest ends on Aug. 25th at 5 pm and winners will be notified by Aug. 28.

This is the first Itty Bitty Scavenger Hunt conducted through the Parks and Recreation Department, as part of the Bicentennial Event through Alabama.

Since this year has been designated as the “Year to Explore our Places," Auburn residents can get to know downtown Auburn on a more personal level.

“We really wanted to highlight some of the areas in Auburn that make us who we are. And downtown is just such a focal point for us that that’s the one we wanted to hit first," said Whitney Morris, aquatics and special events coordinator with Auburn parks and recreation.

Morris says this is an event that should inspire both families and college students in Auburn.
