The Tigers rounded out their 2018
signing class this Wednesday. Auburn has arguably the most impressive receiver
class in the country. Auburn has snagged several highly rated commits at the
position. Co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach, Kodi Burns will have a
lot of weapons on the outside next season with most of Auburn’s top pass
catchers coming back. As for new signees, Auburn went into Tuscaloosa and
picked up Seth Williams who is four-star recruit. Bo Jackson’s nephew, Shedrick
Jackson, out of Hoover has been a long time commitment to the Tigers. Four-star
receiver Matthew Hill is also a top 150 recruit nationally. Lastly, four-star athlete
Anthony Schwartz is one of the fastest players in this entire recruiting cycle,
and he played receiver in high school as well.

Gus Malzahn nabbed his second 2019 prospect Wednesday afternoon in four-star legacy quarterback Bo Nix. The Pinson Valley High School product comes home to The Plains, where his father Patrick Nix played his college ball.

Junior receiver Ryan Davis is having a historic season on The Plains, and it is no coincidence that the biggest game of his career coincided with the biggest game of Auburn’s season. The Tigers beat archrival rival Alabama 26-14 to continue their dream of winning the SEC Championship and reaching the College Football Playoff.

Coming off an Iron Bowl victory, Auburn travels to Atlanta next weekend with the SEC championship on the line. The Tigers will play Georgia just three weeks after they demolished the Bulldogs 40-17 inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn defeated Indiana State in the opening round of the 2017 Gildan Charleston Classic, 83-64. Transfer Desean Murray scored 14 points and notched a team-high 12 rebounds to give him a double-double. Junior Bryce Brown scored a team-best 15 points, and is now averaging 23 points per game.

The two-headed monster of Nick Chubb and Sony Michel travels to The Plains this weekend, headling an efficient Georgia offense. Either runningback has been Georgia’s leading rusher in the last three Auburn vs. Georgia games, and both have performed well in their senior seasons.

A few years can seem like an eternity in athletics. That is definitely the case for the SEC, which was perennially the top conference in college football in recent history. The SEC hoisted the national championship trophy every year from 2006 to 2012. However, over the past few seasons, the memories have faded and so has the conference's grip atop college football.
