Though many countries look toward America for guidance, some Auburn international students say the U.S. in 2020 challenged their perceptions of what they once felt was a role model nation. As Auburn University looks to enter another hybrid semester of increased in-person classes with continued online classes, faculty members had questions for University President Jay Gogue and Provost Bill Hardgrave during a special meeting of faculty on Tuesday afternoon. Though the meeting was focused on a vote of no confidence in Hardgrave, attendees were granted a Q&A segment to ask about the spring 2021 semester before discussion on the vote.

Several vaccines for COVID-19 have made headlines in recent weeks because of their high efficacy. At Provost Bill Hardgrave's second virtual town hall over Zoom on Tuesday afternoon, Auburn faculty had questions about how vaccines might be distributed at the University next semester as well as who might be prioritized.

Around 2,000 fall 2020 graduates are set to be recognized in Jordan-Hare Stadium this Saturday, Dec. 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a number of safety measures, Auburn University announced Monday evening. This weekend's ceremonies will be the first held since December 2019.

Auburn University's core student union building is now known as the Harold D. Melton Student Center. After a resounding "War Eagle" from the namesake himself, Chief Justice Harold Melton of the Supreme Court of Georgia, a banner was lowered signaling the dedication. Behind the banner was signage with the new name installed on the front facade of the building.

The Auburn University Board of Trustees has voted to remove the last name of David Bibb Graves, Alabama's 38th governor, from facilities on its main Auburn campus. The motion was approved at the latest board meeting on Friday, Nov. 20. Trustees unanimously approved the action.

Auburn University will be taking the reins from GuideSafe, an initiative launched by the University of Alabama at Birmingham, in conducting sentinel tests on campus for Auburn students, faculty and staff. The change in management was announced Monday afternoon in a letter from Kimberly Braxton Lloyd, associate dean of clinical affairs and outreach for the Harrison School of Pharmacy.

Just under one week before his face-off with Republican candidate Tommy Tuberville in Alabama's U.S. Senate election, Sen. Doug Jones visited Auburn University on Wednesday night for an open candidate forum. The Auburn University College Democrats and College Republicans co-hosted the event with an invitation also extended to Tuberville, who was a no-show because of a prior commitment.
