Senior midfielder Brooke Ramsier was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com’s National Team of the Week following a career match in the NCAA Tournament First Round win over South Alabama last weekend.
Ramsier notched a career-best five-point outing that guided the Tigers to a 4-0 victory against the Jaguars.
The Dallas, Texas native had a hand in three of the four goals, which stands as a program record for most goals in an NCAA Tournament match. She notched an assist in the first half when she flicked a pass over to her sister Casie who buried what served as the eventual game-winner.
Brooke Ramsier had her first career brace in the second half to send Auburn to its third-straight opening round triumph.
The senior becomes the second player in program history to earn a spot on the National Team of the Week as Katy Frierson accomplished the feat in 2011.
Ramsier’s recognition also marks the fourth time an Auburn player has earned national acknowledgment this season, setting a new program record.
The Tigers take on UConn in the NCAA Tournament Second Round this Friday in Gainesville, Florida at 2 p.m.
