The University sent a mass email about campus safety to students March 4, at approximately 9:45 a.m. signed by Bobby Woodard, associate provost and vice president of student affairs.
It has been seven years since Auburn student Lauren Burk was killed on campus.
“Today, we remember the seventh anniversary of her passing and keep in mind some important safety tips,” the email said.
The email includes five tips for staying safe on campus and information about the Auburn University Lauren Ashley Burk Memorial Scholarship.
The Night Security Shuttle Van Service runs from 6 p.m-7 a.m. seven days a week while classes are in session and can be reached at 334-844-7400, according to the email.
If the Night Security Shuttle Van Service is not in session, the email said students can call Auburn Department of Public Safety at 334-501-3100 for an officer escort to a campus destination.
