Tennis to host Depaul in NCAA Regional

For the second-straight season, the Tiger women’s tennis will host an NCAA Regional. Auburn will face off against DePaul in the first round on Friday, May 12. This is the fifth straight year the Tigers have earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

“This was one of our goals from the very beginning of the season,” Auburn head coach Lauren Spencer said. “We feel really good coming into this tournament, especially after we played so well at SEC’s. We are built more as a tournament team and these girls have really thrived in tournaments this season.”

Auburn’s first round match against DePaul is set or 1 p.m. CST. on May 12 at Yarbrough Tennis Center. The winner will take on Florida State or Arizona State the next day for a chance to advance to the NCAA Team Championship at Georgia.

Auburn is 2-2 against DePaul all-time, with the Tigers taking the last matchup, 4-0 in the ITA Kickoff in 2013. Auburn defeated Arizona State 4-2 last season to advance to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.

The Tiger tennis team finished the regular season with a 23-10 (5-8 SEC) record.
