Auburn guard Aden Holloway plans to enter the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining, per reports from various outlets on social media. He is the third player to leave the program following the 78-76 upset loss to Yale in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The former McDonald’s All American spent only his freshman year with the Tigers after committing to Auburn in August 2022.

Auburn will have a new back court for the 2024-25 season as Holloway becomes the third guard to leave the Tigers for the portal this offseason — alongside K.D. Johnson and Tre Donaldson.

With 26 starts this season, Holloway averaged 7.3 points per game, 2.7 assists per game and 1.5 rebounds per game.

The true freshman had a breakout performance against Indiana in the Holiday Hoopsgiving game in Atlanta, GA with 24 points with five made shots from deep — a season high.

However, Holloway averaged just 19.0 minutes per game and 5.8 points per game in conference play after playing in 20 or more minutes in all but two of the Tigers' non-conference games.

Holloway was a part of Auburn’s 2024 SEC Tournament championship run in March and was selected as a part of the 2024 SEC All-Freshman Team.

With lots of decisions still to be made on the 2024-25 roster, head coach Bruce Pearl and his staff will look for possible replacements for Holloway and the other guards via the transfer portal as well as the high school ranks with 2024 McDonald’s All American Tahaad Pettiford set to join Auburn next season.
