Student entrepreneurs with business ideas will soon compete for a share of $50,000 in funding through the Tiger Cage business competition.
Presented by the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business, Tiger Cage will award the best early-stage products, services or business concepts that emerge from students of all majors.
Working as individuals or teams, students from any college will have the opportunity to pitch their concepts to a group of industry leaders. The funding won will help in jumpstarting their businesses.
The grand prize winner will earn $25,000, second place $10,000, third place $6,000, fourth place $4,000 and a $1,000 People’s Choice Award, voted on by event attendees, will also be presented.
The kickoff event will be Wednesday, Sept. 27 in Lowder hall and the finalists of Tiger cage will proceed to a two-day Entrepreneurship Summit on April 6.
