A 3-year-old boy died from accidental drowning on Thursday, Aug. 2, in an Auburn swimming pool.
Auburn Police and Fire responded to an emergency call at about 8:40 p.m. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Opelika Road.
The victim was pulled from the swimming pool by a maintenance worker. CPR was immediately performed and continued by emergency medical personnel when they arrived.
The victim was taken to East Alabama Medical Center Emergency Room, but the child was later pronounced dead at 9:45 pm.
The child's name has not been released at this time.
Auburn Police are investigating, but according to police reports, the child died as a result of accidental drowning.
