Opening night for the Auburn University Theatre's summer production, "Still Life with Iris," by Steven Dietz is tonight at the Telfair B. Peet Theatre.
"We would love for a big turnout from the community. One of the reasons we chose this show is that it straddles catering to adults and kids, and we know that there are a lot of families with children that need things to do over the summer," said director Heather May.
There will also be a Saturday matinee performance at 2:30 p.m., a Saturday evening performance at 7 and a Sunday matinee performance at 2:30 p.m.
The play is the story of young Iris, who has been taken from her family, and her quest home. Along the way she befriends Mozart and Annabel Lee as she learns lessons of friendship and adventure.
"It's a little bit of fantasy, dealing with issues of family, heritage and home," May said.
Admission is free for Auburn students with a student ID, free for children and is $10 for adults.\0x0C
