A white Plymouth Breeze in the Lowder parking lot caught fire, according to Battalion Chief Joe Lovvorn.
The fire department received a phone call that a car was on fire at 11:35 a.m. Approximately three minutes later, the fire department contained the flames in the car's engine compartment, according to the fire department officials.
"The immediate concern was it spreading to other cars, but it was contained immediately," Lovvorn said.
The car owner said she had no problems earlier in the morning, but declined to comment on any more of the situation.
"Difficult to tell the reasons that caused it, but evidence leads to fuel or electrical, but we will leave it (cause) as undetermined," Fire Chief Lee Lamar said.
