A 19-year-old female Auburn student was struck by a car today at 1:58 p.m., according to the Auburn Police Department.
The victim, who has sustained minimal injuries, was crossing the street at the intersection of South Donahue Drive and Heisman Drive when she was struck by a Mazda 3 driven by an 18-year-old female Auburn student.
"She had no visible injuries, but she was transported to East Alabama Medical Center by ambulance, and she was complaining of some pain, so nothing life-threatening or anything," said Auburn Police Capt. Tom Stofer.
Stofer said the victim's name will not be released until she has notified her family.
Neither the driver nor the victim were at fault, Stofer said.
"At this point in time, it appears to be nothing more than an accident, so I doubt very seriously if there will be any charges against the driver," Stofer said.
