Courtney Lockhart was found guilty of capital murder Thursday afternoon for the 2008 kidnapping and shooting of Auburn University freshman Lauren Burk.
A Lee County Circuit Court jury deliberated for several hours after spending the morning reviewing video of an interrogation of Lockhart.
According to the Opelika-Auburn News, the trial will now move to the penalty phase.
The jury could recommend the death penalty or life without parole.
