Stadium malfunction causes false alarm

A malfunction in Jordan-Hare Stadium's sprinkler system resulted in fire alarms and flashing lights at approximately midnight, according to Lieutenant Robert Hodge of the Auburn Fire Department.

Hodge said the incident was a false alarm, but that there is no way of knowing the severity of the situation until they arrive on the scence.

"We don't really assume anything until we get here and check the alarm panel," Hodge said.

After checking the alarm panel, which is located in the mechanical room on the bottom floor of the stadium, Hodge declared the incident a false alarm.
