The Auburn gymnastics team triumphed over Kentucky Friday night.

It was the 56th meeting of the Tigers and the Wildcats.

The "All Auburn, All Orange" themed meet encouraged fans to wear orange to motivate the girls. The orange-clad crowd of 3,906 cheered for the girls as the Tigers earned a fifth consecutive win over the Wildcats dating back to the 2008 season.

"As a group, we did not do a very good job tonight," said Jeff Graba, head coach. "This was our best week of practice, we keep getting better in the gym, and then we just didn't bring our A-game tonight, and that is the frustrating part."

Despite the letdowns, the meet was an overall win for the Tigers and the letdowns were met with positive attributions as well.

Rachel Inniss earned first place for the individual floor exercise, with Toi Garcia placing second.

For the Uneven Parallel Bars event, Kylie Shields earned the second place trophy. Petrina Yokay earned All-Around third place.

"Overall we had a few mistakes, there are definitely highlights which brought us through the whole meet," Shields said. "We just need to train harder and fix up those little errors."

As to how to prepare for the next meet, againist Alabama, Shields said, "Just take it one meet after the next, getting ourselves ready for nations."
