Under Armour Women sponsors 'road rules' challenge

The Under Armour Challenge, sponsored by Under Armour Women, will take place on the Student Center Green Space Tuesday from 2-5 p.m. The challenge will feature an obstacle course, with elements such as ladders, webs, climbing walls, and tunnels.

According to Christina Bumpus, one of Under Armour's campus ambassadors, teams competing in the obstacle course must consist of four people.

"Teams can be coed or single all male or single all female," Bumpus said.

The winning team will receive a $1,000 cash prize.

Participants can either register for the obstacle course online via the event's Facebook page, found under "Under Armour Women at AU--UA Challenge," or they can register on site prior to competing.

Bumpus said one of the main attractions at the event will be four cast members from MTV's Real World/Road Rules Challenge. The cast members will be taking pictures at the event and assisting competitors with the obstacle course.

"I think the two guys are gonna help out in the obstacle course, because there's a six-foot wall that if someone can't climb over the wall, the guys will, like, help them over it," Bumpus said.

In addition to the obstacle course, the event will include a DJ and free giveaways.

Although the challenge is coed, Bumpus said the event is really intended to promote Under Armour Women.

"The purpose is just kind of to get Under Armour Women's brand name on campus and just out in general because Under Armour has been such a male-oriented brand for so long, and they're trying to expand the women's focus," Bumpus said.
