The 2012 Lee County Probate Judge Forum will be held Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Event Center Downtown in Opelika.
The two candidates are Probate Judge Bill English, who is running for re-election, and challenger John Chase. Both are Republicans, and there is no Democratic challenger; whoever wins the March 13 primary will be a shoe-in in November.
"We encourage all Lee County voters to attend," said Frank Dillman, coordinator for the Patriots of Liberty Tea Party, the event's sponsor.
The forum, which is free and open to the public, will begin with three-minute introductions and follow with a question-and-answer format.
"We'll have some questions up front," Dillman said. "Then to get the audience rocking and rolling, we'll collect questions about 45 minutes into it, choose the best question and then give the challenger and the incumbent time to answer those questions."
The candidates will each have two minutes for all answers and closing statements.
"Just before the end and the closing statements, they will ask their opponent one question," Dillman said. "Then there will be opportunities for rebuttals. Rebuttals will be 30 seconds."
Dillman said he hopes many registered voters attend the event.
"There are a lot of students on the (Auburn) campus who are registered voters for Lee County," Dillman said. "We want to get the word to them as much as we can."
The forum will be moderated by John Sophocleus, economics instructor at Auburn. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m.
