The Auburn University Trustee Selection Committee chose nine nominees to the Board of Trustees, presided by Gov. Robert Bentley, Monday.
The nominees are B.T. Robert, District 1; Clark Sahlie, District 3; Jimmy Rane, District 3; Bob Dumas, District 3-Lee County; Jimmy Sanford, District 4; Elizabeth Huntley, District 6; Sarah Newton, District 7; Jim Pratt, District 9; and Charles McCrary, At-Large.
Byron Franklin and Virginia Thompson were not reappointed to the board.
Bob Dumas is the president and CEO of Auburn Bank. He has been the CEO since 2001. Dumas is also the head of the Alabama Bankers Association and has spent more than 30 years as a banker.
The meeting in the Capitol building began at 11 a.m..
The current members are Robert Lowder, District 2; James Rane, District 3; Virginia Thompson, District 3-Lee County, Dwight Carlisle, Disctrict 4; Gaines Lanier, District 5; Sarah Newton, District 7; John Blackwell, District 8; Byron Franklin, District 9; Samuel Ginn, At-Large; Raymond Harbert, At-Large; Charles McCrary, At-Large.
Members of the board expressed worry for Auburn's accreditation.
"Our Southern Association of Colleges and Schools does come up in 2013," said Raymond Harbert, chairman and chief executive officer of Harbert Management Corporation. "You have to have five trustees under SACS guidelines."
If the Alabama Senate does not confirm the board's nominees Auburn could lose its accreditation, Harbert said.
