Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson said during a press conference at the Auburn Police Department this morning that the search for Desmonte Leonard remains on-going.
"This is not supposed to happen in Auburn," Dawson said. "Doesn't matter where he is at... we will find him."
Authorities began raiding a house yesterday in Montgomery where alleged shooter Desmonte Leonard was suspected to be hiding.
A photographer from the Associated Press reported that all officers left the house around 2:25 a.m. this morning.
Reports from Reuters stated the police raided the wrong house, but Dawson said this is false information.
"That is not true," Dawson said.
Despite the in conclusive efforts thus far, Dawson said the search is going on around the clock.
"We will respond exactly the same way," Dawson said of receiving further 911 calls. "When you're looking for the murderer of three young men, it's not a song and dance. It's law enforcement being dedicated."
Leonard, 22, is currently evading law enforcement for allegedly shooting three people, including two former Auburn University football players, and wounding another three people during a party at the University Heights apartment complex in Auburn on the night of June 9.
Sources via social media indicate that as of 9:11 a.m., the house appears to have been completely vacated by the authorities.
Leonard, whose nickname has been given as "Woosie," has seen various outlets of support via social media.
