Alleged Auburn shooter Desmonte Leonard will be arraigned after arriving at the Lee County Justice Center Thursday morning at 8:15 a.m.
Leonard, 22, is currently being charged with three counts of capital murder and two counts of first degree assault.
He has a sixth charge of either murder or assault that is pending the status of victim John Robertson.
Robertson, 20, is recovering in unknown condition at University of Alabama at Birmingham. His family has requested the hospital not release any information.
Auburn police said concessions would be made to Leonard while he is being held in jail to ensure his safety among the general population.
Leonard turned himself in to Montgomery police last night after being picked up by his attorney Susan James.
She said that her office brought in Leonard and that she and her son picked him up and drove him to meet investigators, according to the Associated Press.
James did not specify where Leonard was, but revealed he was about 50 miles away.
"He was very calm, very tired and very ready to get this over with and very respectful," she said to AP. "When the full story is told, it may sound different than the perception now."
James also told AP that she was not "retained to represent" Leonard.
