Police searched Friday morning and found nothing suspicious at the Wynnsong 16 theater on East University Avenue after nationwide searches of Carmike Cinemas began Friday after a phone call with a bomb threat was made to the Columbus chain's headquarters.

Company spokesperson Terrell Mayton said the callers said they were employees of a vendor that works with the theaters.

The threats were related to the new movie "The Expendables 2," which opened Friday, Mayton said.

Carmike Cinemas runs more than 200 theaters across the country and the threats sent teams searching from Auburn to Illinois.

A man was arrested outside of a Columbus Carmike last night with a gun, police reported, but authorities believe it is not related to the bomb threats.
