The fall graduation ceremony will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 in the Auburn Arena.

The first of 1,441 degrees will be handed out at 10 a.m., while the rest will be given after a small break at 2 p.m.

For those who can't make the event, a live stream is available on the Auburn's Office of Communication and Marketing website.

"We started it about 10 years ago," said Mike Clardy, director of university communications. "You'll get especially grandparents who can't travel from long distances. We get a lot of people who send us notes of appreciation, like grandparents in other parts of the state or country who got a chance to watch."

Clardy said the service helps members of the military who are deployed abroad as well.

"Probably some of the most rewarding letters we get are from relatives in the military who are serving overseas," Clardy said. "Several years ago, we had a lot of soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan who were able to watch it via the web stream, and we got a lot of positive feedback after that."

Those who watch the ceremony can also hear the graduation charge from Leonard Bell, a food science professor who was awarded the Leischuck Endowed Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2011.
