According to an article on auburn.scout.com, former Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn will be returning to Auburn as head football coach.
Malzahn was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach during the Tigers' 2010 championship season.
Two Montgomery TV stations also reported Auburn was close to announcing a football coach.
WSFA 12 News and WAKA CBS 8 spoke with President Jay Gogue at a Kiwanis meeting in Montgomery earlier today.
WSFA's official Twitter account said Gogue told them, "late today or tomorrow we will be in a position to announce a coach."
