The Auburn Police Department reported a sexual assault of a 20-year-old female Tuesday, March 19 on Samford Avenue near Hemlock Drive.
The victim is not a University student.
An Auburn Police report filed March 19 at 10:19 p.m. described a black female being the victim of first-degree rape (strong arm) near the 1110 block of West Samford Avenue between 9:45 - 10:15 p.m.
According to an Auburn University Weekly press release, the suspect is a muscular, college-aged white male with a beard or other facial hair. He should also have fingernail scratches around the neck and possibly the face.
If found and convicted, the suspect will be facing a first-degree felony charge of rape.
The University reminds students to be aware of their surroundings as they walk or run on campus or off campus late at night.
