Jerome Seagears, a basketball player who transferred from Rutgers to Auburn, announced he will be leaving the Tigers to be closer to his home in Silver Springs, Md.
"Jerome came to me and expressed that he hadn't truly recovered emotionally from his time at Rutgers," Auburn basketball coach Tony Barbee said. "It is important to him that he continues his academic and athletic career closer to home where he can be near his immediate family and get the support system that he needs."
Seagears had only been part of the Tigers basketball for about a month before deciding to part ways.
