Well Tiger Fans, we arrived at the end of another term at Auburn. Now one of the biggest questions during and at the end of finals week is "what do I marathon on Netflix now?" Well here is a list of five MUST SEE shows this summer.
HOUSE OF CARDS- House of cards offers a fantastic blend of drama and suspense. While watching this show you will quickly realize that there is no room for friendship or love in politics and no one is safe from the chessboard of politics, because everyone is a pawn. Kevin Spacey delivers in a performance that will leave you on your toes. Believe me when I say, this is not a predictable show and anything can happen.
GREY'S ANATOMY- While this show is often joked about or referenced to as a "chick- flick" I personally marathoned this show last summer and I was entertained for every second of it. Grey's offers a perfect blend of drama, medicine and sex. The show is extremely well written and it is almost impossible to not identify with a single character. Also for those of you looking to fill your summer playlist with music that's not on the Top 40, Grey's Anatomy has some of the best music on television. Still not convinced? If you watch anything this summer watch Season 2 Episode 16: "It's the End of the World" and Episode 17: "As We Know It". In these episodes Seattle Grace Hospital is under the impending doom of a bomb threat.
AMERICAN DAD- For those of you who appreciate a good laugh, watch this show! While shows like South Park and Family Guy rely on parody for a good portion of their comedy, American Dad has humor that stands on its own. The jokes are quick and intelligent and while crass does not rely on the "fart joke" to elicit a laugh from its audience. If you really need a reason to watch, watch it for Roger the Alien and his multiple personalities and watch because "'Merica".
BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE- For the frat star within us all, this show is a must see. For those of you who have played ball in high school or maybe even in college, you'll find the shows exaggeration of the "sports world" to be extremely funny, but hey don't fell discriminated against if you didn't, more than likely you'll find the representations of the stereotypes to be funny. It is wildly entertaining and imaginative. Beyond everything that makes up the show: the drugs, girls, and crude humor, all of the characters are lovable in their own right.
WALKING DEAD- I don't know about the rest of you tiger fans, but is never really been a summer unless I've binge watched some sort of supernatural show. This summer THE WALKING DEAD is the spot. Having just wrapped up its fourth season and with its return this fall, I would HIGHLY recommend getting caught up on AMC's most successful show. For those that can't really handle blood and violence, I would recommend you avoid this show like the plague but for those that enjoy the idea of a zombie apocalypse you'll enjoy every second of this show. The makeup is phenomenal and the sets are incredible, making it almost hard to believe they shut down Atlanta for months to film this visual masterpiece. The show focuses on the tough choices we face in the midst of survival. The drama is gripping so don't miss a second.
