World Cup viewing party to be held in Gay Street municipal lot

Once every four years, a nation comes together behind one team in the hopes of bringing home international soccer glory.
Auburn students and residents looking to support the United States Men's National Team during their World Cup opening match against Ghana can watch with fellow fans in the Gay Street municipal parking lot.
The event, which was put together by the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, Auburn Downtown Merchants, and the City of Auburn for a Tailgate for Team USA, will begin on Monday, June 16 beginning at 4 p.m. in downtown Auburn.
The event is free and televisions will be set up throughout the parking lot courtesy of courtesy of The Event Group and Satellite & Electronic Innovations.
Parking will be available throughout downtown Auburn with the exception of the occupied Gay Street municipal lot.
In the case of inclement weather, the viewing party will be cancelled.
