After a breakout SEC Championship season, Auburn football will start the 2014 season ranked No. 5 in the preseason Coaches Poll.
Florida State, Alabama, Oklahoma and Oregon come in ranked ahead of the Tigers in that order.
The last time Auburn started a season ranked in the Coaches Poll was 2012, when the Tigers just scraped in at No. 25.
Following a 3-9 season in 2012, Auburn entered the 2013 season unranked before making a run to the SEC Championship and within 13 seconds of the BCS National Championship.
The Tigers are scheduled to face seven of the preseason Top 25 teams in 2014.
