A heat advisory has been issued for Lee County, Ala. Friday, Aug. 22, in response to the anticipated high temperatures affecting the area.
According to The Weather Channel, temperatures are expected to range from 95 to 100 degrees, potentially reaching 103 to 108 degrees with humidity.
Students and faculty should take precaution against heat-related illnesses like heat stroke and exhaustion by wearing light, loose-fitting clothing and remaining hydrated throughout the day.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention list symptoms of heat-related illnesses as profuse sweating, hallucinations, chills, headache, high body temperature, dizziness, and slurred speech.
The average high temperature for Auburn in August is 89 degrees.
