Public Safety and Security sent out a University email detailing an attempted robbery that took place in the early morning of Sept. 28.
The attempted robbery took place by Shelby Center on West Magnolia Avenue around 4-4:15 a.m.
Public Safety said in the email that police are looking into the matter.
"The victim indicated that the suspect is believed to be a young white male wearing a black bandana, black shirt, and black pants, who was last seen leaving the area in a white or grey early 2000 Ford Mustang with loud exhaust," the email said. "A weapon was displayed, but no property was taken. The suspect's vehicle was last seen traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Magnolia Avenue."
Police said if anyone has any information on the incident to contact the Auburn Police Division tip line at (334) 246-1391.
The email also said students and employees should always use the buddy system while traveling on foot at night on or off campus.
