Auburn announced a future home-and-home series with a new opponent Monday.
On September 19, 2019, the Golden Bears of California will roll into Jordan-Hare Stadium. The next year on Sept.21, the Tigers will make the trip to California.
"It's exciting," Auburn athletics director Jay Jacobs said, according to AL.com "The coaches, fans and players will be excited. It'll be a fun series and it will be great for Auburn. We've become a national brand now and to have Auburn on the west coast and to have those good people from Cal come to Auburn will be great for Auburn and Cal."
The two teams have never played before. Cal's offensive coordinator Tony Franklin held the same position at Auburn for seven games in 2008.
