After winning its last two tournaments, the Auburn men’s golf team is currently ranked fourth by Golfweek, and All-SEC sophomore Matt Gilchrest is ranked eighth individually.
Auburn is the highest ranked of the five SEC schools in the top 25, ahead of No. 5 Vanderbilt, No. 6 LSU, No. 12 South Carolina and No. 23 Alabama.
The Tigers’ victories include the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate and the Tiger Invitational Presented by Jason Dufner, and they also have five top 5 finishes overall.
Gilchrest’s 69.75 stroke average leads the Tigers, and he has six top 5 finishes in seven tournaments this year.
Auburn’s next competition is Friday, March 20 at the Schenkel Invitational at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Georgia.
