Auburn golfer Ben Schlottman named SEC Freshman Golfer of the Week

Auburn’s Ben Schlottman was named SEC Freshman Golfer of the Week on Thursday, April 2 following his performances at the Schenkel Invitational and the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate.

At the Schenkel, Schlottman finished second at 11-under, including a career-low 6-under first round. Auburn won the tournament, shooting 41-under overall.

At the Hootie, Schlottman tied for 22nd at 1-under overall. As a team, the Tigers finished tied for fifth.

Schlottman’s 70.00 stroke average ranks him fifth in the SEC and first among all freshmen.

Schlottman and the Tigers compete at the Gary Koch Invitational at the Gaston Country Club in Gastonia, North Carolina, April 6-7.
