The Preseason Amway Coaches Poll was released Thursday morning, July 30, placing Auburn in the top 10 at No. 7.
With this ranking, the Tigers dropped two spots from last season's No. 5 rating, before finishing the season with a 8-5 record with four losses in the last five games.
Ohio State defended the top spot, coming off a National Championship win in January under the leadership of Urban Meyer.
Between Ohio State and Auburn are TCU, Alabama, Baylor, Oregon and Michigan State.
Auburn will face five of the 25 teams in the poll starting with LSU on Sept. 19 in Baton Rouge.
