Students will be able to participate in a campus discussion with Congressman Mike Rogers and Congressman Gary Palmer at SGA's Capitol on the Plains Tuesday, Sept. 22.
Michael Bullington, SGA's assistant vice president of external affairs, said the purpose of the event is to educate students about who and what they are voting on.
"We want people to be politically knowledgable," Bullington said. "We might be college students, but we're all of voting age. Everything that happens in government somehow affects us."
Bullington said he hopes this event will encourage a dialogue between students and their legislators.
"I've talked to a lot of people at city, state and federal level who are making decisions and who would love to have interactions with students," Bullington said. "They want people to know what they think and vice versa, but there's just not that interaction. We really want to try to increase that."
The panelists were picked strategically, according to Bullington.
"Because of the presidential primary coming up, we thought it would be good to have a federal focus at Capitol on the Plains," Bullington said.

Capitol on the Plains will be held in the Student Center Ballroom from 7-9 p.m.
