Auburn basketball's 2017 recruiting class got a lot stronger Thursday, as 4-star point guard Davion Mitchell out of Hinesville, Georgia, committed to the Tigers.
Mitchell is the No. 41-ranked player in the country, according to 247sports.com, and he joins the No. 16-ranked player in the nation, center Austin Wiley, in Auburn's growing 2017 class.
Mitchell, who is listed at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, is currently entering his junior season at Liberty County High School in Hinesville.
He also had offers from Connecticut, Florida, SMU, Louisville and Memphis, among others.
With Mitchell's commitment, Auburn's 2017 recruiting class moves up to No. 2 in the nation, per 247sports.com's composite rankings.
