Auburn Police Division officers arrested an Auburn man and charged him with a car break-in that occurred Sept. 3 at the 800 block of Lem Morrison Drive, according to a press release issued by the APD.
Rome Payne, 20, was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 13, and charged with unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
According to the release, the victim reported that someone broke into his 2006 Hummer and stole a hunting knife valued at $100. Payne was later developed as a suspect after being identified by video surveillance.
Payne turned himself in, according to the release, and was transported to the Lee County Jail. He will be eligible for a $3,000 bond.
