The second annual "Pearl Jam", an event hosted by men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl and members of the team, will be held Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Auburn Arena. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public, and will feature various events and activities on the Arena floor.
From 7-8 p.m., a 3-point contest and dunk contest will be held, along with games to "get to know the team". The second hour of the event will take on the shape of a more fan-oriented experience, including basketball drills on the floor, inflatables, a photo booth and more.
The first 500 students to enter will receive a jar of "Pearl Jam", a literal jar of jam. The first 1,000 students to enter will receive free Domino's Pizza.
“We had so much fun with the students last year, we decided to let the students stay downstairs and the general public upstairs,” said Pearl. “It will be your typical 3-point shooting contest, dunk contest. We will have some skits. We will have some fun, and it will be great for our fans. We will sign autographs and take pictures and interact with our fan base ... people are going to come to Pearl Jam and actually leave with an actual jar of Pearl Jam. It will be a good time.”
The public can sit in the 100 level-seats, while students can enter through the student entrance and sit on the bleachers.
