Auburn to celebrate Military Appreciation Day at Idaho game

The University has scheduled several military-themed events for the Idaho game, Nov. 21, to honor veterans and servicemen and women, according to a press release from the athletics department.

The 4th Marine Aircraft Wing will conduct a pregame flyover featuring Marine Corps Attack Helicopters, veterans will join the team captains during the coin toss and multiple recognitions that will honor Auburn University veterans and ROTC cadets will occur throughout the game.

Active and retired military will receive free admission and food at the Auburn Hospitality Tailgate, located at the Alumni Center. Their guests will be offered free admission and $5 per person for food. The hospitality tailgate opens at 11 a.m.

The athletics department is asking anyone who has a ticket, but does not plan to attend the Nov. 21 game, to donate them back to the University so they can be given to military personnel and their guests.
