Students, alumni and community members will now be able donate to the Tiger Giving Day projects until Dec. 3 at 12 p.m.
The University extended the deadline because interest is still going strong, according to Ryan King, digital philanthropy strategist for the Office of Communications and Marketing.
The deadline extension should help more projects reach their goals, King said in an email.
"Many projects have gone beyond their goals, but a few are still working toward being 100 percent funded," King said.
As of print time, the Honors College's "A World of Opportunities: Send Honors Students Abroad" project has raised the most at $90,260 — 451 percent of its goal.
The Honors College supports student travel in various countries around the world, including Greece, Turkey, Germany, Cuba, Costa Rica, Panama, England and Croatia.
The money will go "toward study-abroad scholarships for high achieving and deserving Honors College students who would not otherwise be able to have these life-changing experiences," according to Tiger Giving Day's website.
The College of Architecture's "Build Hale County Homes: Rural Studio Designing $20K Houses" project has raised the second largest sum of money at $65,250 — 326 percent of its goal.
Rural Studio is an architecture program founded in Hale County in 1993. Each year, students design an affordable house using $20,000. The goal of the 20K House Project is to "develop a product line of houses that provide a high-quality alternative to the typical trailer home," according to the project's Tiger Giving Day page.
As of Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 4:15 p.m., the combined projects have raised $403,499.
