Report: Kerryon Johnson to have surgery, miss spring practice

One of Auburn's breakout performers in 2015 will reportedly be forced to miss spring practice after undergoing surgery.

Kerryon Johnson, entering his sophomore season, will undergo a procedure on his shoulder that will force him to sit out all contact drills in the spring, according to multiple reports.

The news was first reported by 247sports.com.

Johnson rushed for 208 yards in 2015, good for third on the team, and caught 14 passes for 159 yards. He shared time with fellow running backs Peyton Barber, Roc Thomas and Jovon Robinson this past season and is expected to compete with Thomas and Robinson for playing time in the upcoming year.

In Auburn's 31-10 win over Memphis in the Birmingham Bowl, Johnson caught a 36-yard pass on a fourth-down trick play and rushed for his third touchdown of the season.
