Tuskegee University president to speak at Auburn University MLK Scholarship Breakfast

Tuskegee University President Brian Johnson will speak at the University's annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast.

Johnson, the seventh president of Tuskegee University, received his bachelor's degree from Johnson C. Smith University in 1995, his master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1998 and his doctorate from the University of South Carolina at Columbia in 2003, according to a University press release.

His biographical narrative, "A Young Man Apart, A World Apart," was published in the Aug. 31, 1995, edition of the Raleigh News and Observer, the press release states. Johnson shares his experiences growing up in inner-city Durham, North Carolina, in talks around the country.

The event is hosted by the East Alabama Chapter of the National Forum for Black Administrators, Auburn University Office of the Vice President for University Outreach and the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs.

The breakfast is open to the public and will be held at The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center at 7:30 a.m. Ticket costs range from $32.64-$317.49.
