SGA election 2016: Meet the minor candidates

I would be a great President of the College of Business because I have the leadership skills and experience. I will provide assistant to administration and my fellow peers by using my voice to make needed changes. I have a positive attitude and good communication skills, and I will do everything I can to commit my time and thoughts to bettering our department. I will increase study space, create department specific tutoring, improve facilities, and enhance student-employer relations. I will do this by representing the School of Business to the best of my ability.

I would be honored to attain the position of VP of the Harbert College of Business and incorporate my time and well thought out ideas to better this area of our university. I see the hard work and productivity that my colleagues and myself put into our time here at Auburn, and I plan to provide my assistance on their behalf if I were to receive this position. I will dedicate my attention to the needs of the business students and take on the responsibility of voicing their thoughts and opinions to improve opportunities and provide leadership for each person.

If elected as a College of Business Senator I plan to not only be a genuine and proactive voice for other minority students on campus, but I plan to encourage participation in SGA hosted campus-wide activities as well. Additionally I will be an informant to students from every college to insure their knowledge, therefore affording them a greater opportunity to have their voices heard and issues efficiently solved.

I am running for Senate in hopes of improving Auburns facilities, specifically the ticker room/computer room. I want to see our College of Business facilities improve to catch up to and eventually exceed those of our neighboring schools. I am also running so that if any students within the College of Business want to see other changes made, I can fight to make it happen.

A few of my goals would be to increase study space in Lowder would be to have a Department for specific tutoring. Improved competitive facilities and increase student-employer relations. With these goals I believe that I can make a big impact with the College of Business at the University of Auburn.

I am running for Senator because I firmly believe that the Harbert College of Business students deserve better opportunities, such as increased student-employer relations in greater geographical regions of the country, and department specific tutoring across all business majors. I want to work to provide students with transparency throughout the college, as well as resources they strongly feel with help better prepare them for graduation.

In learning what it means to truly be an educator, I've come to find that being a teacher means doing everything in your power to help others to form a better future, whether that be for society or the individual. Running for this position means being in a place where I can not only form a better future for the College of Education, but a better future for educators and everyone they affect. I hope to be an effective liaison between students and faculty as we all strive to better our community, our school, and future generations to come.

I am running with the Take 5 with Education party. I actually have never ran for anything SGA related before but I am running for this position because I would love to be apart of the student government in regards to the College of Education. I am passionate about becoming a teacher and I would love to do anything to help further Auburn's College of Education and future educators.

I am so excited about our platform, but one point that I am especially pumped to promote is that we are striving to promote service learning through community organizations that serve at risk students.

I would enjoy the opportunity to build relationships with the students in the College of Education and to serve them to the best of my ability. I would like to serve the College of Education students in five primary ways: (1) foster community among College of Education students, (2) promote service learning through community organizations that serve at-risk students, (3) encourage academic excellence in students while raising awareness for scholarships, (4) improve learning resource center technology, and (5) enhance curriculum choices.

I am running for this position to better serve my college and the students that are a part of the College of Human Sciences. If elected President, I will work to better communication about college news and events as well as encourage student involvement. I am excited to be a leader and help make the College of Human Sciences the best it can be for the students and faculty. 

When elected, the “All In” Party will strive to represent the interests of the College of Liberal Arts students to the Student Government Association. Our goals are to establish and maintain visible relationships between CLA students and Senate by making ourselves available to students, establish an effective schools council that will provide leadership and programming for CLA, increase SGA efficiency and transparency, and provide communication between CLA students and SGA Executive Officers. We are excited about the opportunity to serve you for another year and we humbly request your vote and support on February 9th.

I seek reelection in order to capitalize on my existing relationships with student leaders and administrators to raise awareness of graduate student interests and to advocate for policies that benefit the graduate student population. In particular, I wish to work on behalf of our growing international student population, many of whom are graduate students, to ensure that they have a voice in the affairs of Student Government. Last, I wish to continue my extensive work on improving academic policies on all levels and in all colleges, particularly when it comes to promoting active learning and co-curricular involvement.

I am seeking election for the position of Senator for the Harrison School of Pharmacy in order to foster a transparent relationship between the students of the HSOP and the Student Government Administration. I hope to create a professional, working relationship with other student leaders both at the graduate and undergraduate levels to help serve all students of this campus by fostering the promotion of initiatives, legislation, and programs. I want to assure that the students of the Harrison School of Pharmacy have an active voice representing them in the SGA senate.
