Auburn moves to sixth nationally in RQS rankings

After ending the regular season with its fifth-consecutive 197 against Arizona State, Auburn gymnastics rose to sixth nationally in the Regional Qualifying Score rankings with an average of 197.120.

Both the No. 6 ranking and the 197.120 RQS score are program records, and the five-straight 197 scores mark a first for the program as well.

Individually, senior Caitlin Atkinson ranks fifth nationally in the all-around, averaging a 39.545.

Oklahoma remains at the top of the RQS rankings with an average score of 197.845, followed by Florida (197.655), LSU (197.555), Alabama (197.325) and Utah (197.205).

With postseason play ahead, the Tigers head to the SEC Championships, where they will compete in the evening session with No. 2 Florida, No. 3 LSU and No. 4 Alabama, while No. 8 Georgia, No. 13 Arkansas, No. 20 Missouri and No. 22 Kentucky will compete in the afternoon session.

The evening session will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the Verizon Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
