Seven Tigers named All-SEC by coaches

Seven Auburn football players were named to the coaches' preseason All-SEC team on Thursday. Junior defensive end Carl Lawson, senior offensive lineman Alex Kozan and junior kicker Daniel Carlson led the way as the Tigers' three representatives on the SEC's first-team list.

Two more linemen, junior offensive guard Braden Smith and senior defensive tackle Montravious Adams, were named second-team All-SEC. Defensive back Rudy Ford and return specialist Marcus Davis, both seniors, were named to the conference's third team.

Kozan and Adams have made the preseason All-SEC team in the three consecutive seasons, while Lawson and Ford have made the team twice.

Auburn has its fewest preseason All-SEC players since 2013, when six Tigers made the list. That Auburn team went on to win the SEC and play for the final national championship of the BCS era.
