Defensive end Carl Lawson was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week on Monday following his performance against Mississippi State.
Lawson recorded three tackles, including two for loss, and picked up a pair of sacks.
His second sack, which came in the second quarter immediately following an Auburn touchdown, caused Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald to fumble the ball, which defensive tackle Montravius Adams picked up and returned for a touchdown.
Lawson is tied for second in the SEC with five sacks, and he has registered 15 tackles in six games so far this year.
