Senate met this week to discuss ongoing projects such as the the Auburn Memorial, which SGA President Jesse Westerhouse presented to senators.
“The Auburn Memorial construction project is being completed, so if you get a chance, do go by the President’s house and see that for yourselves,” Westerhouse said.
Reed Adams, business senator, said he and fellow senators are striving to improve communication with the student body by getting more feedback.
“This week we’re going to be working on using our office hours more appropriately,” Adams said. “Right now we don’t really get any feedback, so we’re going to be setting up tables in the College of Business, taking iPads and trying to get more feedback.”
Graduate School Senator Benjamin Arnberg said senators and students should utilize Student Counseling's Let's Talk service.
“I met with the council of the Graduate School on Wednesday and they just wanted to remind you that Student Counseling Services provides a service called Let’s Talk,” Arnberg said. “If you need to talk with someone about something for ten, fifteen minutes, you can stop by Aubie Hall 101.”
Kayla Warner, liberal arts senator and diversity and multicultural affairs committee chair, said students should look forward to the upcoming visit from CFL star Michael Sam, as arranged by SPECTRUM.
“As you know, Michael Sam is coming to Foy Auditorium at 6 p.m. so be sure to welcome him as the Auburn Family and ask him lots of questions about the LGBTQ+ community, what it’s like to be a part of that community and what we can do to make other LGBTQ+ individuals feel safe and welcome here,” Warner said.
