More severe weather expected in Auburn

Multiple rounds of severe weather are expected in the Auburn area between Saturday and Sunday mornings. The first round of three possible rounds has passed.

Tornadoes caused by the severe weather system caused heavy damage in Mississippi and some damage now in West Alabama, the NWS has said.

The second round of severe weather should begin Saturday evening and night and into Sunday morning, possibly continuing overnight. The second round should be weaker, but an "elevated risk" of severe weather is still expected.

Tornadoes and damaging wind up to 60 mph are possible from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.

A third round is possible Sunday afternoon.
