The Auburn Popcorn Company, located on College Street next to the infamous Toomer’s Drugs, is adding new traditions and trends to Auburn’s ever-growing list.

The popcorn shop opened it’s doors earlier this summer by its dedicated owners Will and Cindy Andrews, and has been successful ever since. When you walk through the door you are greeted with the delicious smell of their assorted flavored popcorn, fudge and their newest menu item that has gotten the attention of residents.

Co-owner Will Andrews said that the store wanted to make something for everyone, so that's exactly what they did. The Auburn Popcorn Company is making an impact in the community with their original inventory including their Edoughable cookie dough.

Auburn is as trendy as ever with its pedestrian friendly communities, trendy boutiques and now safe-to-eat raw cookie dough.

Many are loving the growing trend of edible cookie dough, so The Auburn Popcorn Company is adding four different flavors to their menu this summer including Birthday Bash, Milk n’ Cookies, Snicker Dude and Chocolate Chip off the Ol’ Block.

I am not staying in Auburn for the summer, but I made the drive down for the day so that I could get a taste of this growing trend that has decided to make its way to The Plains. I tried the Snicker Dude flavor and I only stopped eating to take breaths.

Part of this going trend is that the cookie dough is GMO free and is made without eggs to ensure it is safe to be consumed raw. The egg-free ingredients can help customers feel guilt-free and safe while consuming.

We have all grown up licking the bowl clean after making cookies, some of us being told by our parents not to eat the batter with raw eggs, so this new menu item for The Auburn Popcorn Company makes that treat safe to consume and is also perfect for those with allergies.
